Ray-Traced Gaussian Splatting marks a new era for digital environment art.
As a 3D scanning specialist, I’ve been closely following radiance-field workflows from the very beginning and it’s exciting to see how far the ecosystem has come. Today, Gaussian Splatting is deeply integrated across a growing range of tools and pipelines, opening up a lot of creative freedom for look development and scene design.
In this project I combined multiple GS captures, re-lit the scenes with different moods, and enhanced them with additional textures and CG assets. The final shots were rendered fully ray-traced via Octane, which makes the lighting integration feel much more “film-ready” while still preserving the natural complexity of the scanned world.
Hope you enjoy the example.
