Scan the Unscannable: RODE NT1-A
The RODE NT1-A is a legendary large-diaphragm condenser microphone renowned for its exceptionally low self-noise and clear, neutral sound reproduction. Having been a reliable companion in my home studio for years, I wanted to give it a go and see what comes out when digitizing it with my combined scanning methology.
The challenge in digitizing the NT1-A lay in the complexity of its components: the delicate spider shock mount with its elastic elements, the highly reflective metal diaphragm, and the mix of various metallic and non-metallic materials.
